Gender Identity

Wherever you are on the gender spectrum:

I have more than 20 years experience helping people who are seeking clarification concerning gender identity issues. My work has included:
       support - self-esteem - information - therapy - assessment - gender change
gender feelings - pre-transition therapy - support during transition - disclosure
confidence building - coming out - career development - sexuality
relationships - family issues - successfully integrating gender into life as a whole
I provide assessments and referrals for hormones, surgeries, and ancillary services.

I also see transgender individuals for whom none of your issues involve gender specifically, but you just don’t want to have to explain yourself.
I have worked in the transgender community since 1979. My clients have included adolescents, the elderly, and everyone in between.
In addition to working with TG individuals, their partners, their families, I have been active with a wide variety of community organizations.
I was the onsite therapist at TransSpace and TransThrive.
I developed, directed, and provided clinical services for the Transgender Life Care Program at the Castro Mission Health Center
for the San Francisco Department of Public Health; and provided counseling services at the Dimensions Clinic serving LGBTQ youth.

I have provided trainings in transgender care for other therapists and service providers at New Leaf, San Francisco General Hospital,
Larkin Street Youth Center, Youth Advocates, St. Anthony’s Foundation, and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and many others,
including the World Professional Organization for Transgender Health (WPATH formerly the Harry Benjamin international Gender Dysphoria Association).
I was instrumental in providing training, support, and documentation toward the passage of transgender civil rights in San Francisco in 1994.

I am a long-standing member of  the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH- formerly the Harry Benjamin International Gender Dysphoria Association),
and the Bay Area Gender Associates (BAGA), the longest running peer consultation group of therapists and clinicians who specialize in transgender care and services.
